The contrast knobs always go bad on MPC 4000's. They stick out, get banged in transport.

This is the 2nd MPC 4000 I bought with a busted one.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement? What values and specs do I need?

The old one says ALPS on it and has 2 pins on one side and 3 pins on the other. I can't seem to find something similar.

According to the service manual pins 1 and 3 are the resistor, 2 is the tap, 4 and 5 are pot case connected to LCD Ground (line 11 of connector J400).
It‘s probably a 10kOhm pot, guessing from the B103 ending of the part number.
You can use a regular 3 pin pot and connect it‘s case to the 4 and 5 position of the circuit.
(use a strong wire for mechanical support... in case you don‘t find a matching one)
