Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Just wondering if anyone can explain how to record sysex messages
from my synths and sound modules in the mpc... so that when I save
a project and press play another day it recalls all my synths settings
exactly....

Can I do it on one track per machine, or do I have to do it
track by track.... Any ideas or tips are welcome...

Peace

I would use a dedicated sequence for recording sysex. Record the sysex dumps from your synths on separate tracks. Play this sequence only once, before you start the actual song. No need to play it again during that day.

OK THANKS FOR THE TIP.... I'LL TRY THAT OUT...

DO YOU JUST HIT RECORD WITH THAT TRACK NUMBER AND THEN PRESS THE OPTION TO SEND SYSEX ON A SPECIFIC TRACK IN THE SYNTH????

Yup, that should do it. If it doesn't work, check the MIDI filters between on the synth and the mpc, but my guess is that it work work right away.

once the dump is over go into seq edit - turn notes to all events or exclusive and you ll see that they are there
