suggestions for mount/bracket to fit the startech ide to cf?

i've got one of these installed in my 4000, but haven't managed to find a mount or bracket that would attached to the bottom of the mpc, and align the drive with the opening for the 3.5" slot (where the oem hard drive usually sits). does anyone have any suggestions?

sorry to bump, but know this is a pretty common drive to install so imagine others would have needed to find a suitable mount / bracket for it?

I would just velcro the drive in place...
(dunno what mounting items are in my 4k (the ssd was taped in) but I don‘t remember a construction like the one for the CD drive)
It would be easy to drill a couple of holes into the bottom, but then in the (unlikely) case of a sale those would certainly trigger negotiations of 50bucks less per hole and „it‘s not original...“ comments

Sorry for writing bs... of course there are mounting rails for a 3.5“ drive
(just opened my 4k... similar to the CD mounting, but with more options/holes)
Some might fit the CF drive, if you unscrew the construction to attach it.
Small angles from a diy store might also do the job. Imho no custom brackets needed.

yeah! i would have thought it would be much simpler because there is as you say a mount for 3.5" drive, but the cf drive from startech doesn't seem to have regular mounting holes. that's the major snag i'm finding.

could jerryrig something and have it mounted internally, but mainly i'm interested in the access so a clean mount that aligns with the hole for the drive would be ideal!

You might modify the Startech instead.
Good double-adhesive tape on clean (!) metal can be as solid as a welded connection.
Glue a matching plate to the bottom and adjust height by the posts of the MPC.
