Selecting and editing

Hello,

here is my query and hopefully a route to save me and many others extremely long winded jobs.

If I wanted to be able to say alter all the velocitys of all the F notes in one track only - how would I do this. There seems to be no obvious way and this seems like an oversite as this is a necessity to sequencing imo.

I used to have a Yamaha QY700 and this machine could do this job and many others like it in seconds.

Please please tell me the Akai can do this otherwise it means manually altering hundreds and hundreds on individual notes which aint good.

Use the arrows to select verticaly and the jogdial to select horizontale while holding shift.

say I have a section of piano with loads of notes over say 120 bars and I purely want select F's or G's or whatever - is there any way to do this and say hit button for velocity change of just those selected F's in that selected time code.

The QY would do this simply and uickly - but then the QY wasnt a sampler!!!!

I have sent a qery to Akai as this is such a basic part of sequencing imo - especially with drum tracks.

I currently have 10 full drum tracks on which I want to adjust the velocity of one note only(the cymbal crash - needs turning down in velocity), That means manually tweaking 1000's of notes. I want to be sick,

Ahh so that is what you ment,, jesus that is an essential missing feature, ive mailed akai about this months ago, never got any reaction. I think we both should mail them maybe we can make them change it in the next update

Yes you can do this but not induvidual notes (in Instrument tracks

But you can specify a note and time range

if you are dealing with the drum track
the YES you can specify induvidual pads (as many as you'd like to be edited)

in Main > velocity > hit open window

I dont think you know what i mean.

What you wanna do is when you for instance have a shaker playing true a 8bar sequence on all 16th notes,,, you cant edit all 3/8th beats and 6/8th beats all at once,, you have to do that manualy because you can only select in a complete row without ommitting any notes.

for instance

Pad8(shaker) {----------------}
Pad7(kickdrum) {- - - - -}

Pad 8 the shaker has all 16th notes at the same volume/velocity,, if i want all 4/16th note in each bar to have a higher velocity, i cant use the selection function without also selecting the notes inbetween.

It's not what was asked, but if you want to change the level of a certain sound in a drum program, you could look up that note in the drum program and change the level of that particular voice.
