step edit from main screen like mpc2xl

on the mpc2xl, you could simplely hit rec and the pad, and you would step edit, right from the main screen....then use the step keys to advance and add rests.

can i do this on the mpc4000. Right now i cant...but am i missing a setting?

Hit the step edit button, just next to the MAIN button and Voila...

then you can do some tweaking in the event editor to mess around with velocities and diffrerent mods...

yeah, i know its only 1 button away, but that was a feature i used alot on the 2xl, so im just getting use to the 4000......its hard to break those kind of habits, especially because its also an mpc, and im expecting it to work
