Good Guide for mixing

A very good visual guide for recording, engineering and production is "The Art of Mixing" by David Gibson. It will help you to visualize your mix and how to proper set your eqs, levels, pans, and how to fatten a sound according to the fundamental/root frequency you want to enhance. It has visuals and charts for each kind of mix Heavy metal, Big Beat, Hip Hop, Reggae you name it check it out. Afterwards some of the functions on the 4k with make more sense.

Check out www.courseptr.com for the book and www.VirtualMixer.com for the examples of the printed materials, classes and a visual program that the author patented. And the site binger recommends also for tips on mixing. I just got the book last week and it helped out my mixes 10 fold just using the 4k. I have pro tool 001 as my DAW but I haven`t recorded anything since moving to my new crib last month. I still have to unpack and organize the studio. The other guide "The Art of Producing" is nice also. I got alot of beats to remix down so I check you later.

for my part i prefer the bobby owsinski book
"The Mixing Engineer's Handbook" is nice too.

and about mastering i suggest the bob katz "audio mastering"
