midi edit software

Anybody know of a good midi sequencre editor that will work in conjunction with my mpc4000 sequences. I'm talking for the PC

I want to get the files via usb and edit the data as mpc is low on functions and I want the pc software to arm me with loads more edit functions.
Stuff like editing one note range only for a full track with one job.

Example I have loads of drum tracks with wrong velocity - to edit all the beats individually is pain but to just job on a note range would be easy.

There is no way to edit midi via an editor. I know editting velocity can be a pain in the ass some times.

You can also import a midifile into some sequence program., edit it there and put it right back.
