downloading the os v1.40

i tried this last night and it didnt work ., i had all the files downloaded and unstuffed. i had the ak.sys on the screen and it said what i had saved on the 4000 harddrive , but i could not figure out how to get the new os on the mpc. i have everything hooked up. some one please help me out thanks OSK

i still cant get this from my mac to the 4000 , someone please help.

You mean the OS loader software doesn't work? I'm not on Mac, so someone else would have to check this. Anyway, as I am sure you are aware of, you don't update your MPC4000 from AkSys, but from the separately downloaded "OS Loader" software. Check the Akai website, there should be one download for the actual OS and one for the updater software of your choice (Mac or PC). Good luck!

good looking , i had to be in os 9. i am happy with the cdr burning upgrade. whats gonna be in the next update. i am about to off the xl and get a 4000.

The new os will be here at months end.
Aksys osx support will be added.
Streaming samples from hard drive.
16 level tune (just like the 2000xl)
emu/roland support
drum mixer screen (just like the 2000xl)
it's going to be bangin!
Aksys is dope; unbelievably fast and I'm using a pentium II 400 with win 98SE- my ti-book is getting repaired) I have to tell you that this micron millenia 400 is amazingly stable and runs cubase 5.1 solid. Again aksys is amazing. I haven't found the pad editor though. Still exploring. i'm 80 percent comfortable with the unit and yes it's an incredible machine; so was the 2000xl and the 3000 but this is like nothing i've seen b4 it. I self installed the 40 gig hard drive; 52x cdrw and adat litepipe digital board along with sdram. It's a beast. The sampler section is full spec; it's amazing; the efx are ok; they need some tweaking but are leaps and bounds over the current crop of samplers out there (emu,roland,korg)Cop one ASAP.

You'll find the pad-editor by right-clicking on the "MPC4000" icon on the top-left side of AkSys. At least, that's on PC, Mac may differ. Had some trouble finding that one myself! Just like that darn fx-editor on S5000/6000...

I can't believe the power of this machine; it is truly incredible. It is hands down the most powerful sampler out there by leaps and bounds. The e4 Ultra was the grand daddy; it has more inputs and outputs and 64 more voices but the 4000 destroys it on every other spec (efx, storage, ram which gives you over and hour and 35 minutes of sample time, 6 pole filtering, more realtime controllers, 24bit/96khz gives amazing sound quality and to cap it off there's the cdburner) and on top of that it's a sequencer that can handle four devices and it's internal drum machine. There's nothing out there that can touch this machine; not even close.
I'm psyched about all it can do; it really is bringing new things out of me.
Aksys is amazingly fast (using it on a pc with win 98se) and a fantastic idea. OS 1.5 will raise the bar again with streaming samples from HD. We have unbelievable power at our fingertips!
