Lightpipe vs. Analog 8 outs

I'm planning on buying the 8 out option for the 4k but wanted to know if there would be any difference in sound/quality?
I'm sure many of you fellow 4k users have upgraded to one of these 8 out options.
Can someone please let me know which is the better choice?

The 8-out board sounds just the same as the MPC4000's existing stereo outs.

The ADAT out doesn't make any sound at all - what it ultimately sounds like depends on the D/A convertors on whatever piece of gear you plug it into....

I have a RME ADAT 16 In/Out audio card hooked up to my SoundCraft 328 digi desk. Its all nice and easy and you dont have to worry about ground loops or any other type of audio degrading.

So, what are you going to connect your MPCs ADAT to? Does your soundcard or mixer have ADAT?

There will be a small difference in quality as each time audio goes through a AD or DA conversion, the sound will degrade. Recording your MPC as audio on your computer for example, requires 2 conversion hops (DA then AD). Recording via ADAT does not require any conversion.

I'm going to hook my 8 out to the Protools Digi002 Rack. I need the 8 outs to EQ individual drum tracks for mixdown.
Does anyone else do this?

I usually do all the EQing in protools after its already in there. If your not happy wit the inital EQ when tracking, then its harder to fix it, better off doing it IN protools, that way you can change the settings.
