why wont the note repeat play in time.. on the 4000

is this a bug from my mans 4000 but i was trying 2 use his note repeat,, and it was all fukd up,,, when i played it you hear the off note b4 it catches so if im trying 2 play my drums quantized on note repeat like i would on my 2000xl or 3000.. it off when if off and i dont wanna hear that,,

the 2k and 3k were great in that regard is this some type of preset he had in there or is this standard on the 4k.. cuz it dont allow me 2 vibe at all on the machine..

does anyone know if this is something that can be fixed or is it something akai must handle and is not aware...

i tried 2 fix it look for something 2 correct it but i couldnt find it..

here an example if i hold note repeat on the 2kxl anytime if im on 1/16 or 1/32 it will play perfectly on beat regardless if i started a lil off

on the 4k i could not achieve this..

help plz

what os does he have mines works just as good as my 2k but better because it gives you a higher count than 1/32 and a 3rd. I goes up to 1/64 and a 3rd

im not sure i was at circle house studios it was in the c room and was asked 2 get down for a sec in a session.. now im moving into a new studio down in miami beach.. and im thinking of going 2 that machine cuz of the disk space.. sound storage.. alone aswell as the obvious other goodies.. still keeping the 2xl but the usb is really calling me cuz of my sound library of drums alone is murder....

but i rember saying 2 myself and being mad that if the mpc4k cant do that then there was no way i would invest my money into it,,

cuz the timing this is big part of my flow atleast when it comes 2 drums on the mpc,,

but now i think i might have 2 beat on another one an see was up thanks 4 the info tho...

Like you said it isn`t the bow or arrow it is probably the indian using it.


I have no such problems and I used the 2kxl before I moved to the 4k. The 4k has a latch key so you don`t have to hold down the note repeat like on the 2k. Go to Misc Page check to see if the Note Repeat key is set to latch and turn it to unlatch if you want to hold the repeat as you play the notes.

The positive thing you can gain from this is to always check the manual when jumping on new gear. Most of the process is the same but the parameters and functions made have changed or advanced.
