was on 1.5. decided to go to 1.7, the os was dodgy. I decided to then load 1.6. Now the MPC starts with the beautiful screen saying version 1.6 Akai..... thats it. I cant go any further, the mpc hangs . Tried osloader and aksys . Niether recognize it. I seem to remember i could hold a button on boot .... if only i could remember the button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to program some music.
Nope, there is no button to hold while the MPC boots up. If nothing is happens after the MPC turns on you can try 2 things, 1st, if the unit is under warranty call a service center. Or open the MPC disconnect the HDD, sometimes the HDD will interrupt the boot up. After disconnectiong the HDD load the OS.

By the way, 1.70 fixed a lot of bugs that are present in 1.60.
