Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000
By head034 Tue Mar 01, 2005 11:53 pm
Hello,

I am looking to purchase some CD-roms to purchase to use with the 4000. will be hooking up a midi keyboard to see how this works in comparison to using a rack synth like my Proteus 2000..

Any suggestions on CD-roms to get? Plus am I limited to what CDs will work? (i see alot of people selling motif and Triton CD-rom sounds)

Also, if i load a piano sound from one of the CD-roms will I be able to play chords, just like I would with any other rack synth module?

Thank You,

If the CD's are setup for formats that the MPC understands then you wont' have a problem.

If you want to get an idea, go to http://www.hollowsun.com where you can download
quite a few of there free samples. Check those out and you'll get a better idea of
what makes up a Program and Multi.... If you like his free stuff, I would suggest his
CD's that he just put out. If you purchase it soon, he's including all the free stuff on the
website on a cd for free.
