mpc4000 questionz

Greetings,
I am thinking of buying a mpc4000. I have alot of wav samples stored on my computer. If i get the 4000, will i be able to load all my wav samples into the 4000's hard drive and keep them there? Basically i want to know if i can keep my sound library of drums stored inside the mpc4000 without having to ever turn the computer on to access my sounds,. Thanks. Also is there a big difference in the sound quality of the 4000 and the 1000?? Not talking about fx, just the sound of the same wav loaded into each machine. thanks again

u cant store anything in the 4k for good.

it s like any other hard drive, it won t probably live for more than 20 years probably

but if you make regular backups you should be able to keep your sounds...

dude. Thats the whole point of the hard drive. So you can save your files to it, instead of using floppy disks, or any disk for that matter. The only thing is that you should back up your files every once in a while, just in case.

I actually have an external usb HD that im using.

If you purchase the mpc4000 le version..........it comes with no hard drive, or cdr. Only the plus, and the more expensive versions do.

But i purchased the LE, and i bought a usb hardrive. Its alot cheaper than if you buy the 4k with the cdr and hardrive already installed....but you have to be willing to do it yourself

the sound quality of the 4k is better. Its 24bit/96..........versus 16bit. But i did notice that when i loaded some of my old mpc2000xl files......the drums were a little differnt.......not in a bad way, but just differant....im assuming that the dacs are diverant on the mpcs.
