is there a faster to chop samples. like the note variation slider on the 2000xl would do it before is there something similar on the 4000?

can you explain to me how you're chopping them now? if you have ver. 1.70 you can use the Q-Link sliders to 'dail' in or scan through you sample. the slice function in MPC4k works really well. working within regions is the 'zone' equivilent. you do know how work with larger sums of numbers in the Trim and Region window i assume?!. if not, with either your start or end point selected (highlight), just hit 'shift' and your 'arrow' keys (arrows around the jogwheel), this allows you to work in greater increments. i'm sure you already know this but just in case.

did you or do you understand what i meant by selecting larger increments of numbers by using shift and your arrows located around the jogwheel?

the way to use the Q-Link to 'scroll/scan' through a sample is covered in the 1.70 release manual/addendum. you might also do a search on this site for 'Q-Link'. i'm sure it has already been covered.

do you understand regions and how to slice in the 4k?
