Use a q link sequence to give percussion sounds a more randomized feel. You can assign the q link knobs and sliders to amplitude and filter to start. Keep goin...or stop.

Not really a 4000 thing, but when you build drum kits, always put everything where you put it on the last one. Always put the kicks on the same pads, hats, snares ect. ect. That way when you make something, you can switch between drum programs seamlessly. Get a feeling of what sounds good with what.
