This might be a lil complicated but let me try to explain what Im talking about. OK..... Say I have a break beat loop of some sort and I want to make 3 non-contiguous Regions. Meaning... that I want to make regions out of 3 seperate sections of the loop that do touch each other, in other words the Regions do not share an "edge" if you know what i mean.
I want to then use the slice/region funtcion in the edit [F4] window to make 3 seperate samples of the these regions.
Can this be done? non-contiguous regions? The way I end up doing it now is I make 5 regions, but I only want 3 of them so the other 2 sections are just going to get thrown away once I use region slice in the edit F4 window because the MPC wont let you just make 3 sections that arent touching each other. Know what I mean??? It seems that Region 1 has to share its endpoint with Region 2's startpoint and so on and so forth.
I think some software sample editor will let you do this but im not sure because Ive only read about them and havent used them.
I mean I could always go in and use the Extract function for each seperate section that I want, but it would be easier and faster If I could using regions and the region slice function.
