USB Midi-controller problems...

Has anyone had problems with connecting to the front USB port.
I connected the device (Edirol PCR-1), loaded piano, jogged the wheel over to INST and nothing works. The pads are working but the USB connection is not playing.

you cant use the usb like that on the mpc, the front usb port is mainly for storing devices and a USB keybaord (as in letters) although some latters on the keyboards (mainly F buttons) open windows within the MPC which makes me belive akai has always planned to do a custome 4k controller (16qlinks please), but as of now you'll have to go via midi

that would just be the best thing... if you could also assign those controlls to control by midi port, A B C or D and also midi channel, to have all your
internal samples as well as external gear controllable, without being on that track in the main screen.... it would be a whole other world...
