when sampling on the mpc 4000

when sampling on the mpc 4000 how do u sample specfic sounds. For instence say i wanted to sample a bass line from a song, how do I isoled just that bass line with out getting the meoldy sounds and drum sounds

This is done after sampling. Look into LP filtering.

got to the program hit assign, Then hit F2, then hit edit 1. This will take you into the fitlering screen tweak away from there. Learn the manual.

The lowpass filter is not going to perfectly isolate the baasline from a song. Your still going to get the lows from the drums or melody.
Reading the manual isn't going to tell you this either.

sampletron 5000 melody eliminator ?? PLease tell me there is no such thing! I would laugh, but someone probably is marketing just such a thing...Anyway, To the best of my knowledge, you can't do what you are trying to do. Bass lines are simple enough that if you have an MPC and a midi keyboard you should be able to play the damn thing...With most songs all you have to do is nail 8 bars and copy. If you can't do that enter it with step edit; if that fails a carreer in accounting is always a good way to pay the bills.
