Okay guys, the converter has improved a lot already, but I have a problem with the mapping of sounds to the pads. Since I don't own an mpc1000, I hope some of you can help me out.

Here's a good example. First take the TR808 kit provided by Hollow Sun in their original S5000 format http://www.hollowsun.com/vintage/808/index.html
When you load this kit in the mpc4000 you get the normal mapping of sounds over the pads. The kick is in PAD2, the snare in PAD5, the hats at pads 3, 6 and 8. The expected thing.

Now load the mpc1000 variant of this kit, also provided by Hollow Sun, into your mpc1000. It's here: http://www.akaipro.com/MPCKOTW/TR808_KIT.zip
Now according to the mpc1000 program file, the kick is in PAD1, the snare in PAD2... Totally different!

Do you get the same sounds under the same pads? Or is it indeed f'ed up on the mpc1000?

Thanks for any help!

I just got an answer from a guy on the mpc1000 forum, so there's no need for any of you to do the job I asked.

The way it looks now is that my converter did it right in the first place, and that the same Hollow Sun kit has a totally different (and weird, I might add) sound-to-pad mapping on the mpc1000.
