mpc - roland vs sync problems

Hi, has anyone got one of the Roland VS machines, and if so have they ever managed to get it to slave to the MPC? I've got a VS-1680 and I've gone up the wall tring to get this to work, I can use the VS as the master but it's not ideal...

i use the 4k w/ vs2400 in sync all the time.
It's better to set the vs as master and the mpc as slave.
but i have tried to set the mpc as master and it works (don't know why you would want this thow... maybe for live performance recording?)
