Whats the CC number for overdub, play/stop?? Or is there a way to assign a CC number to Footswitch 1 and 2?
There is nothing in the MIDI implentation chart, I cant find anything in the seq edit pg either..

btw, what is GP1 -> GP8 ?

If I remember correctly you may be able to control the sequencer using a footswitch in Global page parameters assign and such.

But usually if I`m connecting two sequencers or controlling other gear I would use MMC and set that up.

That as far as my experience on it. Others may know more.

nope not there :( no assignable cc´s
I have a few more questions tho..
How to automate the amp sustain?
And I cant figure out how to use the filter envelopes.. the sound does not change when twisting the values  .. The ref manual as well as the user manual is silent about this!
I want to make a sweeping filter, starting from low pass to high pass, dont tell me I have to use another lfo for this :o

You have to set the filter type Low/High or use the triple fllter, then set cutoff value in edit one page, next set the filter cut off graph on the right, go to program modulation set the value about 50 percent. Next go to Qlink set program or all, turn assign to Fil Ev Attack, Decay or Release. Press play on the sequencer and sweep away as you like. It`s in the reference manual and the operaters too. But the Making music with samples guide really helps too.

Control Changes are continuous changes which are sliders and knobs Hmnn I kind of think that sequencers push buttons don`t apply I believe that MMC thats care of that.

its a shame the MPC can't do this. CC's don't have to be rotary controls...

Imagine the possibility, syncing the start with a computer but without having the computer send midi timecode / midi clock, IE retaining MPC accuracy.

I wonder if its possible to send a very loud rimshot or other transient audio into the foot pedal input of the MPC to get it to trigger.

How can it do that when MMC is just remote transport messages? You sure yoiu're not confusing it with midi time code?

They don't occupy any more bandwidth than a CC message so how exactly is this idea of getting CC messages to do what MMC already does gong to change things?

Silly child,
you need to back and read the Official MIDI Specification v1.0 from 1983 :)

Start, Stop and Continue are not done with MIDI Continuous Controllers, they are done with 'MIDI System Real Time' messages (which are single bytes)

"GP" stands for "General Purpose" I believe.

Press Global, then F4 for Foot SWitch, then assign a function: Play, Play Start, Stop, Rec + Play, etc.
