Regions start/end

Im a few day 4k noob so please excuse me. I searched but couldnt find a clear answer. The simple task im trying to do is change region start/end times.

Lets say I chop a sample into 4 regions, place them on pads 1-4. Now that part I have down.

So I want to change the start/end time of region 4. I go into the region window and can move the start/end times and play pad 16 to get the sample to play where I want it to. But once I exit that window and get back into the main window, region 4 plays the same as it originally did. And when I get back into region mode, when editing region 4 pad 16 plays where I want it to play... So its cool in region mode, but not the main screen.

I know im missing a tiny step... can anyone help?

Also, how do I delete/purge unused samples from ram, like i could on the 2kxl...

Press edit key turn jog wheel to slice sample and turn off program and sequence since you have already assign the sample to a program, set end margin to 0 and press DO IT. Make sure to read the manual it says that the regions are nondestrutive until you go to edit and press do it. Please read it again. There is alot of information you will miss the first time. We all missed alot the first time.


Purge go to the Global page press memory button turn the jog wheel til unpurge memory unused samples and do it. Also check the Newbie Bible.
