how can i edit a sequence from my pc that i record via a midi keyboard to the mpc 4000

use aksys. drag and drop the sequence file to your pc. import into your favorite sequencing program.

you can also just set up your DAW program with the 4000 and have the DAW record what you play or playback on your 4000

how can i set that up using cakewalk do mean record midi messages into cakewalk from the 4000 i haven't mess much with cake walk so im not sure how do do that

you do your midi file in cake walk then you go to export midi file (choose type 1) then with aksys you drag and drop your exported midi files in the 4K.

set up cakewalk to reiceve midi. Sync your mpc4000 to cakewalk and you can either record straight to cakewalk or record to 4000 and then either play it back and have cakewalk record the midi in data, or you can just save it, load it into cakewalk do your editing, etc. save to midi format 1 and then load it back to the 4000. there are many ways to do it.
