well ive had problems with stuff like this before . So reckon ill get this.
It should be ok shouldnt it?
Want to use it with mpc400 and also computer. Sometimes the usb i notice when using aksys disconnects even though its still physically connected between the computer and the mpc. Not a big problem but just thinkin if id be putting bigger files onto this hard drive so might be an issue. Can you get firewire for the mpc?

There is no firewire option for the MPC.

The USB connection is much better with the current OS.

I didn't check the link about the HDD but, most HDD work with the MPC.

ok thanks. it says in the manual that you need to format your hard drive. Then I seen on this forum somewhere that most hardrive are fat 32 formatted anyway. Now I dont know what fat 32 means, i probably dont need to know but is it something I should ask the hard drive sellers/manufacturers about before I get a usb hard drive. Sorry if this has been done to death, i did do a search though and couldnt find a definitive answer. Maybe there isnt one. Im waiting to hear back from Akai too.

I thought the MPC 4000 was USB 1.0 only... the link you gave referenced USB 2.0....

I'd make sure that the place I buy it from has a return policy, then you don't have to worry.

MPC4000 is USB 1.1
