New 4000 owner

i just made the jump from the 2000xl to the 4000. I hope its what i expect it to be.

Yes indeed, welcome to a new way of thinking. Be patient with your 4000 and it'll reward you highly. Read through the Newbie Bible, read through this entire forum as many times possible, and most importantly - as you will hear from many users on this forum - please read the manual.

make sure you print out a copy of the reference manual. It is much better than the user guide.


also read the z4/z8 reference manual, later when you are more familiar with the mpc4000. This maunual explains the full deatures of the sampler better.

Check out hollowsun.com fo some really inexpensive, and great sounds. They used to be free, but now, they charge a small fee.

I'm about to get my 4000 soon, but i see some people complain about the hard drive on the white one? Is this true cuz that's the one i'm getting? Also what is a good price for a used one in excellent condition?

i just paid $1500 actually $1400 with shipping. But they go for like $1800.

nah i caught it off ebay. The starting bid was like $1600 but dude left his phone number so i called him and was like the most i could spend was 1500, yadda, yadda and dude was like nah at first. But i made an offer he couldn't refused(soprano style). So he took it the 1500 and he paid shipping which was like $97 because it weighed 35LBS.

oh ya gansta it was loaded or the basic. and what was the offer he couldn't refuse lol?

lol it was basic but in perfect condition. it was a 5 day auction and it was the first day with no bids so i called him and told him that i would buy it for 1400, not now but right now and he was like aight.
