If you have stuff from the 1 k that you want to bring over to the 4k it will take some work. The 4k will not read your MPC1k programs so you'll need to connect a card reader and drag your samples over into a new program using ak.Sys.
I can't agree with that, but to each its own. I go to know the in's and outs of the 4k in a few hours, The regions feature and the sampleing editing may be new, but after messing around with it iw will come to you. As far as making mulit's, just have the manual by you side and it will assisit you in making your own multi's. The layering and poly and mute groups are not that hard to find if you just press the buttons. I don't think its a big jump at all. In no less than 1 week, you should be able to do whatver you want, then you can start moving onto the features you know nothing about.
