Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

im trying to figure out how to get rid of some of the sounds that on the internal hard drive so i dont have to scroll through so many sounds that ill never use and keep the ones i like. can dump them all and just load the ones i like of the akai sound library that the 4000 came with I think there the same arent they? please help if you can thanks

Check your AKAI sound library CD-ROM first, mine had hardly any of the files from the 400 on it! But then I brought mine without a Hard Disc installed.

Do you use the AK.sys software with the 4000. It lets you manage your 4000's Hard Disc via a USB cable - you could easily re-organise your hard disk using it and make folders for different projects - Much easier than using the Disk Operating System native on the 4000.

use the folder functions to create folders as in HITS, Percusssion, Vocal samples, pads etc etc..
this way you do not need to endlessly scroll thru data to find things also everything auromatically alphabetizes itself to help you on this
