Turntable& the 4000

I know that the 4000 has a phono input for turntables but do you still need mixer or preamp to strengthen the signal, or can you just run it straight into the 4000

The phono inputs on the 4ooo are already pre-amped. You can jsut run the table straight into the back.

Hey thanx man, I am really trying to do my research before I go out and spend 3g's, you know what I am saying! But that is great that it is already preamped, that means I can get rid of my Dj mixer and a few wires, you know!

It's up to you... but I would keep the dj mixer. Depending on what kind of mixer you have, you can phreek your samples if you have an EQ or kill switches on it. Also you can add more volume to your samples. Just a thought though...

I would agree with Juke on this - although the Phono inputs is a nice idea, everyone who is serious about sampling from vinyl will own a decent Mixer - and as mentioned, the EQ on such a facility can prove invaluable when grabbing delicate samples - but then it's totally necessary - depends how much $ you have to burn.
