sup everyone. just got my MPC4000 last nite. got the LE edition. i know...doesnt have all the other things in it, but i got it for $1599.99 off of musiciansfriend.com. copped me a stick of 256mb ram, and got a 40gb hd on its way. installed the ram after i played with the mpc for a lil while. cant wait for the HD to come so i can REALLY work with the mpc. but just also came to the site. always been around here to read things...but finally signed up since i got the mpc now.
i used to have a MPC2000....then moved to the XL. but a year after that...ran into some problems....had to sell the XL. so i mainly did my production with software (reason and cubase). but now im back on the mpc after a long time....so hopefully i can get back into the swing of things.
noticed that the 4000 board hasnt been poppin lately. so how bout people try to jumpstart it again. like....give some production tips (ight...maybe not your secrets...but something). like here's something i have problems on sometimes. i sample a record (orsomething)...but i cant get it to loop right. im trying to fit it in a 2 bar loop. and i probably manage to do it...but it ends up being at 46.3 bpms. how would i program a drum pattern on top of that....wouldnt it go real sloooooooooooow. (answer if you can...) also, some other things to talk about....what'd you do with your mpc today? what kinda beats you make? or what'd you find out? stuff like that.
i get my HD next wednesday....so once i do that...i can dump a couple of sample cds on there (via usb), and whatever sample songs i have. dotn ahve the cdrom yet....imma wait up on that one. but y'all catch my drift. get at me yo.....!
