I NEED HELP!!!

I'M GETTING A LITTLE FRUSTRATED AND I NEED SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE TO HELP ME OUT. THIS IS MY FIRST MPC AND I AM GETTING THE HANG OF IT, BUT ONE THING THAT TOTALLY FRUSTRATES ME IS THE TIMING CORRECT FUNCTION AND HOW IT AFFECTS MY DRUM PROGRAM AFTER I HIT THE PADS. IN OTHER WORDS, QUANTIZING. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME? WHY IS IT SUCH A MISSION TO GET HTE DRUMS TO SOUND JUST HOW I HIT THE PADS IN THE SEQUENCE WHEN USING THE TIMING CORRECT FEATURE? HOW DO I LAY DOWN MY QUANTIZED DRUM TRACK TO SOUND HOW I WANT IT TO SOUND? I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET IT HOW I WANT IT. I MEAN I WANT THE CORRECTION FEATURE ON CUZ I KNOW I DON'T PUNCH IT IN PERFECTLY, BUT I WANT IT TO CORRECT IT IN THE PATTERN I PUNCHED IN. THIS IS REALLY FRUSTRATING TO ME AND I WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

set it to 1/16 for most complex hits
Assuming your tapping in beats (or are you trying to qyuantize loops?)
1/8 and 1/16 are the most common settings to autoquantize your beats if you want them to be put automatically in time in the sequence
what problems are you having?

turn it off

Turning it off means you better hit everything PERFECT. 1/8 and 1/16 is standard practice. Or 1/16-3 will give you a slight swing type feel to some of your hits depending on where in the bar you hit them.

I kept it at 1/16 and it's been fine so far. I just notice a delay sometimes that I can fix in sequence edit. Does anybody know why that is though? Just curious...

Try placing the cursor on "Timing" hit "Open Window" and set all pads to "off". I use it creatively or off, either way..
