Are the sounds that come this the MPC4k Plus any good?

Am I missing out by just copping the regular Mpc 4000?

Does the regular 4000 come with sounds too?

I think they are all good basic sounds but I'm sure you can find better out there on the internet via sample packs, good old vinyl sampling, kitchen sink (no-really), tapes, cassettes, DAT, MiniDisc and such. Depends on how dirty/clear you want your samples. Me, I collect em all. Don' forget Video Games.

The plus models always have some hardware addons installed.

The sounds are the same.

They have wonderful sounds (well, some are crap but some are really really good!). S5000/6000 format which loads perfectly in the mpc4k!

1. There are now 3 models of MPC4000 available in the US:
* MPC4000plus: 272MB RAM, 80GB HD, CD-RW, IB-4D
* MPC4000 Studio A: same a MPC4000plus, plus IB-48P (8 extra analog outputs)
* MPC4000 Studio D: same a MPC4000plus, plus IB-4ADT (8-channel ADAT digital inputs/outputs)
In Europe the cheapest version is equipped with just 16MB RAM, no CD/RW or IB-4D (I dunno if that's the deal anymore though). The older one (both Europe and USA) had 20GB or 30GB HD as standard.

To sum it all up...there is no regular 4k anymore.

2. You just change HD, shouldn't be too hard or expensive. I haven't done it (satisfied w 30GB) but someone prolly has and can add something?
