Well, that's because the MPC1000 don't HAVE a harddrive: it uses Compact Flash cards, just like many digital cameras and similar devices - that's why most Operating Systems will immediately recognize it as a "mass storage device" communicating directly with the drive.
With the MPC4000, which uses a standard IDE harddrive, it's a different story. I believe I recall seeing Dave Whittle or Sean from DPS world mentioning OSX support for AkSys (that is, not in classic mode) coming in the not too distant future, but I can't be sure... So please don't hold it against me.
Anyway, if we are to believe any of David Whittle's latest posts on the Yahoo-mailing list, then it seems things might improve on several matters in the next couple of months. Me, I'll hang on and see what might be coming around the next corner!
