just got my 4000, quite bummed

so i got my 4000 today and im really disappointed. they changed all the things i used and made sense. the sliders which have cool real time now neglect the note on function. and you cant do step increment pitch stuff anymore. whats more when you do sequences you have to do crazy backwards stuff to assign to only onne pad or it affects entire sequence where as before you could over dub cool sounds while working the slider to whatever pad you wanted and not screw with what you had already recorded. i love the file handling capabilities and will miss them but they dont do much good when you cant make the sounds you want with them.

if ive overlooked something in there and it can do these things, let me know otherwise 2000xl welcome back.

personally I don't know why we are so disapointed by the lack of 16 level pitch function .. just assing the sample to keygroups rather than drum program and you'll have it pitched across the whole keyboard.. but this will in anycase be added in the next os update..

I do agree though that the qlink assingments could be made more accessable I guess we'r just not used to them..

But the thing is the 4k is no longer just a drummacine sampler.. get used to it

yeah man, many people I've talked to got issues with the 4k but I've played with a few times and it's just ALOT of stuff done different with a wider range of options. I think people are used to the 2kxl and below way of doing things and don't wanna change up. That's very understandable cause when your comfortable your happy. When thrown into the ring with the 4k you gotta change a few of your strategies that's all.

yeah i think most people in this forum think in terms of hip hop, im talking about fast glitchy electronica beats similar to squarepusher and aphex twin. what i think it is was that there were some "flaws" if you will that we actually liked the results they gave. and i dont think many people used them like that. so im back to a 2000xl and found a scsi hard drive, so i am happy again. its a little more tedious to handle the files but the end result is what i want so thats good.

for a better idea what im talking about listen to this, its very rough the first half is the slower version and the second half picks up beatwise.
