Mpc4000 navy blue is better than Original 4000?

when is this coming out and is it better or just a differnt color?

Musician's Friend claims they will be in stock on January 2nd. Supposedly, the only change is the color change to a horrid shade of dark blue-purple. Let's see if the current white ones are more valuable in a few years. I like this color much better than the new one.

Doesn't it also have grey pads? I like the one I have more but it would have been kewl to see a black with aluminum knobs and stuff!

Yeah, gray pads and an ugly yellow font with the name "MPC4000". If AKAI had left the black pads on it the MPC would have looked very dark.

I thought about what they could have done with other colors. What if they made everything in tan or beige like the MPC2000XL? Black and silver might have been interesting too. Like on the DPS24.

What's the difference between the New Color MPC 4000 that is comin out in Jan. 2004 from the MPC 4000 that came out in 2002? Please don't tell me just the color. I was hopin for a CD burner and CD-ROM together with a tight OS[with no bugs]. Also what's the difference between the MPC 4000 LE, MPC 4000 Plus and the MPC 4000 Studio A & Studio D? If I'm not mistakin I think the MPC Plus is the only MPC 4000 that has onboard sounds with a 80 gig Hard Drive right? If I'm right I would need to buy that MPC 4000 in the future to go along with the Motif ES 6 I already have if my MPC 1000 that I have on order limits me. Holla at cha boy and let me know what's real!

Well, we will never know will we? Thing is MPC has *always* been white so then you gotta go back to the days of the MPC60 or when Akai made their synths AX-60/80 (which were black).
White is classic Akai (which by the way means "red" but i guess all know that...).

when people ask questions about the different model mpcs...is it because they dont' understand what they've read..or because they didn't bother to read the model descriptions in the first place?

All I wanted to know is if the MPC 4000 Plus is the only version of the MPC 4000 models that has a 80 gig Hard Drive with onboard sounds.
