Ak Sys.....

I have downloaded the Aksys on my laptop computer, I have o.s 1.45 on mpc 4k and windows xp on my computer. Everything seems to work fine except when I click on mpc hd on my computer my computer says there is an error with the usb something is unplugged...... but the usb is plugged in nice and tight..... and after the computer shows me the error message my computer shuts down,,, whats up with it????

did you download the latest USB drivers for your motherboard ?

if you don't know what I'm talking about, just type in the name and brand of your motherboard and I'll try to find those drivers for you

I've always had semi-regular occurances of the "something may be unplugged" error for my S5000 connected via ak.sys. All I can tell you is to make sure to back up to floppy or zip or whatever, then tell ak.sys to rescan for samplers. (right click on the top of the tree in the left panel and choose refresh)

This is an akai problem and not a USB driver problem. Somehow or other, the akai sampler(s) or software neglect to send a message retaining contact with the other. It has nothing to do with whether it's a Mac or not, though Akai may have neglected to write the code as well for PC when compared to their Mac code.

Ya also need to install the MPC4K USB drivers. They're on the Akaipro site.

I think it may not be fair to diss Akai on this occassion. This software runs absolutely seamlessly with winXP and the 4000 for me... (though I undertand there are some problems with very large files) I think you must have a problem with your PC USB configuration

can you run aksys on a Mac with OSX?

Can someone describe to me what is Akaisys? I know its software for the 4000 and other akai products but Im not sure what it actually does for my MPC 4000 I see its also downloadable at akai's website but it does not tell what it does.
