I've recently moved into a smaller apartment. As a consequence, I've had to sell of a lot of my gear and hang on only to the basics.
I've never had the need to use the 4000's internal filters to alter sounds. I would like to be able to continue to modify sounds, so I must use these filters. I brought home a copy of the Service and Reference manuals home from work. But I cannot seem to get the filters to do what I want them to do. I can alter rate and level parameters as much as I want but it still does not seem to alter my sounds.
With my Roland processors, which I no longer have, I could take your average kick drum and make it punchier, deeper, draw out the sound more. I could make clean claps sound a little more dirty. You know what I mean, I would like the ability to fully tweak my sounds, but I fear I might not be working the unit properly to do that and these manuals are not that helpful. I will try and continue to experiment in the meantime and see if I can generate some success.
But, can anyone share their experiences with the filters and whether they are working for you?
Peace.
