There doesn't seem to be a complete list of missing features in any one place. The closest thing you will find is the database of missing features on the Yahoo! forum. The group also has other databases for bug reports and feature requests. Please keep the feature requests reasonable. If owners and potential buyers post unusual requests like support for swappable hard drives and support for wireless communication we'll never get anything done. (I have actually read those requests!)

Is the 16 levels really a promised feature that was not implemented until OS 1.50? I don't recall having read anything about it until the recent OS update. The feature list in the AKAI MPC4000 brochure has nothing about a 16 levels function, which makes me think this is something new instead of a promised feature that wasn't included.

16 tunings you mean, and no. but past mpc owners were griping about it because they weren't quick enough to realize that you can map the sample across EVERY pad using a keygroup...instead of just 16 pads

Yeah, I meant 16 tunings. I wrote that last paragraph in a hurry because I had to run out for a while. The latest news is AKAI removed OS 1.45 from most of their websites.

The 16 tuning wasnt a advertised feature. It was implemented just because it was a higly requested feature that a lot of users was missing. So they actually listened to their customers there. Now its implemented although still a bit buggy. But itll get fixed HOPEFULLY....

Akai didnt remove os 1.45 from their web, infact all the prevoius version is available at:

That's the way I remembered it...a requested feature added in OS 1.5, not a feature in the original specs. I wasn't sure as I tend not to track requests. There are too many of them to follow.

AKAI removed OS 1.50 from most of their websites. The exception is the Japan site, as you pointed out. I maintain a link to that website in a Favorites/MPC folder.

I hope Akai gets their stuff together...
