hahaha I was 21 (five years ago) when I got my hands on that SU10 bought it used at GC. I forgot all about it I only had it for about 3 months and I sold it back to GC along with my tascam 420MKII and my DR-660 to buy my first mpc2000 and a month after that they let me turn it in for full credit and I got the MPC2000 studio which is what I have now. But I loved that little sampler and it worked on batteries AAs

but I first had a Yamaha RX21 and then an Alesis SR 16. Both were great for learning the basics.

Man I had a Amiga 500 with Bars and Pipes. I used it with my Korg DSS1, then I upgrade to a ASR 10.

My first sampler was a Roland DJ-70, 2 megabytes of RAM, and some silly scratch dial. This roland piece had the best filters I have ever heard.

Its good to see the old amiga users. I had two joined together via a midi in / out scenario to give me four track stereo (via sound tracker).
Although the first and most nostalgic computer for 8 bit sound / granular sampling was my commodore 64. I remember modifying and using the 8 bit SID chip for creating messed up sounds.
Anyone remember the c64 Rob hubbard music scores? IK+ etc

started mangeling with fast tracker, studdied on a s760 and my first actual sampler was an asrx (I loved it, it´s scratch pad re/sampling method is so fast, I wish other companies would pick up on that, but the cons were to many..
