im pretty sure im gonna invest in the 4000...but i've heard some things like the sounds are "too clean"...i know you can sample at different rates..so if i sample something at 16 bit am i going to have that same vintage sound with the 4000? if i want the drums to sound dirty, can that also be done?

...you can make samples sound like they're coming out of an old transitor radio buried underneath crunched up cellophane in the middle of the desert at night with a windstorm blowing..

really -

re-sample
pre-sample
post-sample production

if you can think it -the 4K can do it. Just 'cos it high fidelity does'nt mean you can't make it low fi >>>>>

or "sample" to ye ol' first casetteplayer from your childhood, and resample back into ye brandnew MPC 4k. dirt and grime as much as you can stand...
