I just read on dpsworld and akai's website that the new blue mpc's will have a new sampling engine that doesn't exist in the white ones. I wonder why the change???
Is this part of the reason for the untimely OS updates and why they cant seem to incorporate the sample audition feature? This may be reaching a little but guess we should've known there was more reasoning behind changing the color of the the mpc4000 from the old one.

i hate to admit it, as color shouldnt mean anything, but the new paint job actually makes me more interested in buying a 4k... funny world.

can you point me to somewhere on the Akai website that says that? Its kinda difficult to believe they would effectively launch a new machine in the same chasis... plus I just bought a white one so I would be pretty annoyed...

from what I know, the MPC is architectured around an Intel Xscale CPU
this CPU is usually found on portable devices such as PDAs...

It's the same Intel CPU... that's the same item description from when the white 4000's came out. The only thing new about it is the color and it will include the newest OS available when it comes out, probably the 1.50 version?
