ok im not asking you what im about to ask you because I think your stupid or some sh!t. just tring to nerrow donw the option because I havent tried it yet .
Did you cursor over the track and press window(the orange button) that should giv you the option to send the track anywere you want. I know it does off of my mpc2000 but like I said I havet tried it out yet on my 4000 I just assumed it could.

i m still using the traditional way of copyin tracks, events, ...! cause in my case dont know whether it was on 1.33 or the one my currently using 1.45 aww s described approach did not work (for me)! so go into seq edit window press shift and enlighten (**** is my english bad!!! sorry man!) with the cursor all the events you want to copy! ... to clipboard! go to the next track and press paste - again from clipboard! kind of slowly approach ... but it works! but i m sure there is a better way! post it once u know it! hope that helps meanwhile!

man I've had the 4k for a while, but I never used the "open window" function on a track .. I always went into seq edit, pressed copy, then again copy to and entered all the data ..
I was bitching about this, as I found it to be faster on the 2k.. but I gotta get used to this way, very fast ..the only thing is you can only copy it within that seq, if you want to copy from a seq to seq you'll have to go the seq edit route

also noticed a new thing in that window: seperate .. a comand that will seperate a track to 16 tracks by midi channel
... now wtf does that mean ..

murw ... don't worry! you'll get faster! ... much faster! and once they add this damn basic func. you'll 
about os 1.33, 1.45, 1.50, ...
glide ... never seen the 16 track thing but sounds interesting! my first idea: 1. usually when i do a drum loop or whatever i assign each sound to a diff. track (and part too)! once i play in my loop its anoying for me to change from track to track after each instrument recorded! this just brings me out of concept! wanna play my rhthm straight in there, which takes about 10, 20 secs, 1 min or whatever! so for me it would be much better from feelin just to play my drum rhithm out the way it comes and botter about this organizational issues later on! if this track thing works so for me its already good for that!
2. sometimes i have my drum loops just on one track cause i was too lazy to split it into the tracks before and then i think: s*** now it would be nice to mess around with the q-links just on the eg. snares (and not the whole beat)! ... but man ... that means work - copying, pastin, ... which is just annoyin! so maybe this splitting thing - you said midi channels - has also to do with q-links! s*** am at work right now! wanna try that ...! sure is for me if that track thing works sometimes it'll make things easier!

murw! i was annoyed by this feature as well! why can't i just copy track 7 from sea 5 to track 7 in seq 9! damn, i m not a programmer at all but i thaught that s a basic! so, ... it doesn't work and you"ll have to work around that meanwhile!
i (as probably anyone else) use the seq. edit route! try to use the knobs (shift, forward, backward, ...!)
i usually do it this way: go to seq edit! bring your cursor at the beginning of the seq (with the backwards (<<) knobs)! hit on your pads the instrument you wanna copy! the pointer will jump to the appropriate row! than press shift + go to button + >> and highlight everything you wanna copy! press copy! go to seq ... return to the beginning of it (press the drum pad again) and press paste!
it still sucks, ... but its the quickest way i've found! the first times you're slow but once you know the steps by heart ... you're still slow , ... but a bit faster !
so my tip: use the knobs, forget about the cursor in this instance, its slow and the sounds you hear scrolling the cursor backwards are horrible!

The Copy To function's been added in a software update a while back, can't remember which one.
