HELP

Can anyone help me on this?, i was happily making a beat on the mpc4000 decided to save it and then turn the unit off.....an hour later i came back to it, went to switch it on and no power......at first im thinking ok ok check the plug theres nothing to worrie about....until i realise that its plugged in and the mains is switched on....by now im beggining to sweat alittle......how could this be mpcs are meant to be indestructable?. arent they?...does anyone know what went wrong with my mpc and how i can get it fixed in the uk or do it myself........please please help!!!!!! Maybe I missed it or something, but did you check the outlet with something else? I'm starting to think that the 4k does'nt like that 220-230 v being feed to it on a consistent basis. Or you guys are more verbal when sh!t like this happens. But on the contrary, this seems to be a regular wit a lot of katz over there in the UK.

I did try with other connections but still no luck!....i think its just dead thing is its 50pounds postage and package thats not even after theyve had alook at the thing......thanks for your help though keep me posted if ya find a soluton peace

If you feel comfortable diagnosing it yourself, then that's the route I would take. Inside, there's a fuse located near the transformer. I'd check that before doing anything else first.

No but yeah but no but yeah but SHADDAP cos like Seanean and Meredith came along and started stirring it all up started saying all these fings about summink or nuthin or sthg all about this thing what they didn't even know nuffink about all about how their MPC4000 was indestructable or summat and yeah but no but yeah cos Jayne Royley blew hers up with a hand grenade and it still worked.


PS - yeah check the internal fuse.

I see the fuse but what should I do with it? I have no power either...

get a multi meter... and test the fuse.

Because I was using a Furman PL Plus II Power Conditioner and after 1 day of use, the MPC stopped working. Did the power conditioner do something to the MPC?? The other units connected to the Furman are still working. I am using mu MPC4000 for more than 5 years without any poblems, until I connected it to the power conditioner.........

Unless the 4k had a bad bunch of transfomers during assembly, I don't buy into this. My guess is that the filament inside the fuse broke -- sometimes these are fragile and can break if equipment is moved around too much. Like someone suggested above, check it with a multimeter and replace it with a new one. If fuses keep blowing, then there's a chance that there's something inside the unit that's shorting out the power.

The power conditioner is designed not to break equipment that's plugged into it. Plugging your equipment into equipment like this is much better than plugging straight into the wall.
