tanks for the answer,BTW,talkin' about the manual,i have downloaded the french one for the 4k,then the english one which is longer (50 pages more!) than the french one...Can you explain?

'cos Akai don't give a ish about the french market and they did not take time to make a full translation of the french booklet
and, I guess the english version is updated more frequently than the other versions...

Relax y'all! I'm from Greece and listen to this fact: we have one Akai retailer here who had only one 4k,for sale.Yes,i was the only one to buy it! So,stop complaining about the manual, the english one is really easy for someone to understand. :D Peace

once you get over the program/multi system you'll be flying. Everything else is a piece of cake. Trial and error is key. Just go around using the window key on everything and, just try and see what it does. **** the manual that shit sucks homey.

Trust me withe 4000 outweighs all the complaining people are doing about the OS. It smokes everything out there today!! If you build a huge library of sounds or have one already you can have literally hundreds of "Sound Modules" worth of sounds on this Monster....I have built a library over 5gb already and have 54gb left on my HD pretty good huh? just think my proteus 2000 only holds 128mb of sounds with all three Rom slots filled....now you do the Math!!! 5gb vs the 128 in my proteus....not to mention I havent even loaded all the Akai and E-mu format CD roms in it yet and I have over 25 discs...once I'm done loading this thing up I'm going to Back it All up to another HD just in case of a Crash!! not the 4000 crashing but HD's do fail after a long time of use it is inevitable!! FX are good, Multiple layering of sounds, part n pad mixer now with Automation, midi triggering of samples, 16 level tuning.....BTW that OS is the one I'm beta testing and it is Real Solid thus far!!

....when do you think we can have a real SOLID and not-buggy OS for thre 4 K?

the 1.51 might be really good (except for the audition feature)
