no they're not you must be doing something wrong! is it possible youre recording your samples into the 4000 at too high a level thus obtaining digital distortion when FX are applied because a little bit of gain is added with certain FX anyway throwing your Volume over the edge......unlike analog digital clips,pops and crackles real quick!!! I use FX on my tracks and get great results!!! try lower the level of your sounds in Multi or Program then add FX??????
