how do you scroll through the octaves without pressing the up button a 1000 times on your black dial ????



also wanted to know do you guys work with it??? how do you guys work?? im curiuos to know because sonar has a great piano roll editor but i love doing everything on my MPC 4k
(another question ) could i transfer the .midi file over to Sonar and work that way?

I'm not in front of the beast right now, but I thought if you hit a pad or external key, it would scroll directly to that note. If so, should be easy to hop octaves with a midi keyboard. Just make sure you aren't in record mode.

Haven't tried it with that program, but any sequencer that plays nicely with MIDI files should be able to share. I know others will, so its worth trying. Might be worth keeping the modified file seperate in case it overwrites any MPC specific info.

Not sure about Sonar 7 but you can save a Midi 1 type file and play it on Sonar. However if you save a Midi file on Sonar (not sure about 7) and open it on the 4k it will be in a Midi 0 type file where all the info is on one track. Then you have to seperate the tracks.
