Hi,
I just recieved my MPC 4000Plus today so am extremley new to the MPC. I have been producing for 8 years with mainly Acid, Sound Forge, Reason, my Boss DR-5, Keyboards, and fruity loops.

Anyway, I hook up my MPC and turn it on and it starts autoloading right off the bat. It just gets stuck on the screen with the little girl saying "Please Wait" loading AINT_SNR.wav. The MPC came with 2 Akai CD's. One called Sound Library and another called ak.sys Control and Network Systems. I tried loading the Sound Library in the CD/RW slot and powering on but nothing changed, stuck on same screen.

I can abort the autoload right when it starts searching for disks on the start to get it to the main screen but when I try to load a program/samples from the INTERNAL it just gets stuck as it does on autoload. It's getting very irritating as I haven't even heard any sound out of my MPC yet. At the main screen I can hit a pad and see movement on the "In" bar but no sound comes through my headphones. I'm sorry for all the questions I'm just new to the MPC. I don't want to send it back, I just want to fix the problem. You guys seem ExTREMLEY knowledgable about the MPC and thought I'd ask here. Thank you guys SOO much, it sure does mean a lot.

Thanks again and I'm proud to be a member of this great site.

Ok,
I finally got the samples loaded but now when I try an record I hear this annoying synth loop sound instead of just the metronome. How can I remove this irritating noise?? I still haven't even recorded a simple beat yet lol

If someone could give me some simple steps in creating/recording a simple 30 sec sequence, I would REALLY appreciate it.

THANKS!

I guess nobody replied because they thought this was a dumb question...

I figured it out on my own. Sorry for the dumb questions
