Who will really sale their 4000 for the 5000?

I know how you feel as a 4k user and I sympathize with ya but I got to put this in the right place.

Just want to know how many people have been sold on the 5000. I will still use my 4000 without any further support from Nu-Akai. This only makes me want to buy another 4000 to put away. Akai gave the 5000, 192 mb of memory vs. the 4000's 512mb. Do you know how much more you can load in the 4000? And they claim to be making better products? I'm totally disappointed!!!

Yeah I got the feeling that Numark wanted to make a mpc akin to
Battery or something from that Cycle Robin addition and zero snap and etc. It is going back to the drum sampler mode not expanding on the 4k full sampler which in my book just needed a bigger multisample libraries. But with most libraries released in the software format and drum sampler user unaware of how to program a synth/sampler the 4k was too much for most.

A hail to one shot samples and phrases libraries cuz those are the main samples you can get for the 5k and others. Anyway it is all right cuz I know that with a few steps I can do similar shit on my 4k that the 5k and others with do besides the effects which I use with Logic and Waves regardless.

But I`m a 3k user also and from that standpoint i see the 5k fit. And the be on the real the 4k user group is the smallest out of all the mpc groups in the market I do believe cuz of the group buying into the 4k fear.

It is the man not the machine. Use the tool you are most comfortable on but no machine can do it for anyone. Garbage in equals Garbage out.

It is not certain that the 5000 will read and load MPC 60,3000,2000,2000XL, and 4000 programs and sounds! Probably not!!!!

I believe that the 5k will have the same or similar format as the 1k, 25k in the similar to the 2000xl format. The 4k is the only mpc using akp and multis so I agree with you on it not working on the 5k. Anyway one-shot wavs can work the latter series up from the 2xl. If it could import Giga libraries, battery and the like that would be something ha, ha, ha.

I think the 5k could be a great upgrade from the 2.5k, but the 5k just has no relevance for most 4k owners.

I have a 1k and 4k, and I can easily add a micron if I want a VA

I can see the point of buying another 4000k as this moment, also the price will go up later if a bugfix OS is made

I wouldn't sell my MPC 4000 for the MPC 5000 or the Roland MV 8000/8800.

Both the 4000 and/or the 8000/8800 might sit next to my 4000, but they couldn't
really replace the 4000, since I would be downgrading features.

When Akai actually makes another Flagship not just calling the next product the Flagship,
I"ll look again. It's really up to which ever company wants my money. It's here for the
taking, it just takes somebody with the right insight to produce a machine worth it.

Actually Blue Haze, the MPC4000 (the only one) can import these soundbanks when u use a converter like chickensys

in fact the only reason we're DISCUSSING it is because they called it a 5000 instead of a 3500

funny, on one level the name is such a small thing, but to 4k users it is really fking SYMBOLIC

not I.....but once my 4k is 'used up", I'm done with Akai.....I really like the 4k though.......too bad AKAI is losing it's (once loyal) customer base - I'm afraid they'll end up belly up on the beach.......

It is stupid to think they almost repackage the same thing in 4 different boxes now as a 'product range', and their flagship has 1/3 of the memory of the 6 year old box it is supposed to replace, and is not a full blooded sampler! But these things are consumer items, as is most of the electronic music market these days, made to a buget, not made to a spec.
