I see that some people have check out the questions posted for the Pros, but I haven`t got any replys as of yet. Hmmmm! What`s up? Someone has to know something. I have another question about whether the Shifting timing function can be used to match up my programming with my loops? If so any suggestions especially using 1.51 OS. I hope I can a respond from anyone more experienced than me.

Any help would be appriecated!!

you need to try this for your self.

the nature of your loop, the parts your trying to blend, and your capability to do it all make the difference.

Yes, Shift Timing can help, and make do the trick.

I have the kicks line up no problem however lining up the snares give me the most trouble. I use mainly grooves with drums and basslines about 1, 2, and 4 bars. I tried setting the quantizing function but the snares still don`t quite line up. I was hoping for a tutor about this. I think it isn`t too difficult but I lack the experience. I know months from now I will be so much better. But a direct answer will get me to that point faster. If you have any ideas send them.

Its quite annoying when you make another topic asking why havent anyone responded to my question, your only alienating people from you

But to answer your question Shift Timing will move The Sample of the particular pad/track, now if you timing is off Shift can fix it if the rest of your playing isnt off(So if your playing a looong 1 minute sample its just going to move the whole sample and make it start later)

So if you have a loop and your trying to lay a drum track over it, you need to get the tempo as precise as you can, as well as make sure the actual loop your playing is falling on time so you can use quantize to get your snares to fall where they should then effectively make use of Shift Timing

Hope that answered your question

P.S. If you still cant get it going right just turn off Timing Correct and manually lay them down

Thanks for the tips. As a beginner all we need is a response for the experienced. And it can be really annoying if 20 odd people read your question and no one replys. It only take One like Slum Village said. Thanks for the tip. And in behalf of all beginners. newbies, and kids on this board there is no such thing as a foolish question ask?

One day I will return the favor

Thanks a million

P.S. How about resampling and chop my programming into a new sequence?

If your sampling live band sounds the samples might not be on time to begin with if this is the case it would be good to chop the sample up into seperate pieces and play them how you want to
