Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Hi all,
I got myself a 4k some days ago (traded it for some electron gear).
I like the machine very much, but I'm still in the learning phase (obviously :) ).

My question:

If i got a sequence running with 3 different programs (assigned to 3 parts) , is it possible to enter the program edit mode and change, for example, the filter setting? When I try this the seq changes the sounds played to the ones in the program I'm editing, I find this very annoying.
Is this not possible, or am I doing something wrong?

I hope I make sense, I'm from Sweden, we usually don't make sense here ;)

Hi,
Your question makes complete sense!

You have the ability to Edit both Samples and Programs while the Sequencer
is running. In the 4000, you get a choice of what you want to hear.

In both the Sample and Program pages, you'll notice a field in the Upper Right hand
corner called "Monitor". You can change that to "Sample", "Program" or "Multi". If
you edit your Program and here it from the "Multi" perspective you will want to swtich
the Monitor from "Program" to "Multi" to be able to hear all the Multi Sounds trigger
while you are editing the program.

I believe that the Monitor section is saved as a "default", so if you want it to be a specific setting (aka Multi), then you'll want to save it as a "default".
