Key Mapping

Heads! What it is? Had a quick ? Been playing around with sampling soft synths, soft samplers and what not and well its been fun but its time to address the issues that are slowing me down. Key mapping. Yup, just want my MPC to trigger like the key board triggers or at least know that what im sampling is copacetic with my MPC's work flow, for times when im sampling software stuff, so my all my pads trigger notes. No more empty pads. I am aware the MPC triggers differently but Im not sure I fully understand that concept either. I know a lot of you guys are already on the boat, so if ya could throw your boy Kd a line, that would be dope. Again, this forum is a sanctuary of sorts for me, just wanna say thanks again to all those who continue to contribute. peace

I'm not sure what you mean by Keymapping... Do you mean making the Pads trigger General Midi (default Akai) or Chromatic?

or do you mean using the 4000's Keygroup feature to map 1 or more samples across the keyboard? It's FULLY detailed in pg 200
of the Reference Manual for the 4000. But basically, when you create a Program in the 4000, you can make that program a drum program
so that each pad triggeres a different sample or keygroup where you can have 1 or more samples spread across the keyboard.
Select Keygroup. Select how many keygroups you want the program to have (how many samples will be spread across the keyboard).
If you only have 1 sample , then select 1 keygroup. Then go to the program add your sample/samples to the keygroup listings as discussed on pg 208. go to the Main pg, select your new Keygroup Program and start playing away.
